Teacher Tuesday - Ms. Wright

Submitted by susan.bird on

Ms.  Shelley Wright is one of our fabulous fourth grade teachers.  Here are a few things you should know about her.

Her favorite ice cream flavor is strawberry cheesecake.

Her favorite zoo animal is butterflies.

On weekends, she usually cleans her house or work.

If Ms. Wright was given $1000, she would most definitely buy books.

Friends Friday - Mrs. Tolley

Submitted by susan.bird on

Mrs. Tolley is our art teacher.  She comes up with some pretty fantastic art projects.  She works with every student in the school, teaching them techniques, vocabulary, forms of art and much more.  Thanks for all your hard work!

On the weekend, Mrs. Tolley loves to watch a  movie or read a book.  She loves to go out and hike, but she also loves spending a weekend watching college football.  (Ask Mrs. Tolley who her favorite teams are!)

Tiger Pride Assembly

Submitted by susan.bird on

Mrs. Beckert loves to teach the students of Brookside about how to be friends, students and citizens.  This years theme is “We’re all in this Together.” With each assembly, Mrs. Beckert focuses on a skill or concept to help us become better.  This first assembly was about all of us being connected and how to be a good friend. She had each of the students make chains to show that we are all connected.

First Grade at the Art Museum

Submitted by susan.bird on

Mrs. Pickering’s class, along with the other first grade classes, had the opportunity to visit the Springville Museum of Art. While there students toured the Round Up: Icons of the West gallery and then played in the children’s underground gallery. They learned about different styles of art, and had the opportunity to make their own art work.
