Kids Who Count - Early Intervention Services for Nebo Families

Submitted by susan.bird on

Since 1986, Kids Who Count has provided Early Intervention services to families of young children residing in the Nebo School District boundaries. We’ve helped thousands of families and children and we can help you. If you are concerned about your baby or toddler’s development or had a medical professional talk to you about some milestones your child hasn’t yet reached, you may be eligible for early intervention services. The purpose of Early Intervention is to enhance early growth and development in infants and toddlers under three, who have developmental delays or disabilities.

Stand for Kind

Submitted by susan.bird on

Yesterday, we had a visit from Foreign Figures who played for our and talked about Stand for Kind.  They talked to us about just being a friend.  We need to care about the well being of our fellow students and how we treat each other.  They reminded us that kindness is cool.  We remember those who are kind to us.  So, be kind to others.  They reminded us that everyone is so different. Sometimes when we are mean to people, we don’t realize what it means to others when we are mean...or when we are nice. We should bring each other together.

Chemical Changes

Submitted by susan.bird on

Miss Bird’s class just finished their unit on matter.  We finished up with an experiment to grow salt crystals.  We mixed bluing, salt and ammonia together and poured it over charcoal.  We waited and what happened? If the chemicals were mixed correctly and thoroughly enough, salt crystals grew.  It was a fun way to end our unit on matter.

1000th Day of School

Submitted by susan.bird on

Did you know that when a student is 110 days into fifth grade they celebrate 1000 days of school?  In kindergarten, students attend 170 days. In first, second, third and fourth grades, students attend 180 days of school.  So, we need 110 days in fifth grade to reach the 1000th day mark. We had some fun in fifth grade to celebrate the day.
