Nebo is Partnering with Tabitha’s Way

Nebo is partnering with Tabitha’s Way for a new event called Read & Feed.

The purpose of this event is to encourage children to continue to read during the summer and to educate families facing food insecurity regarding food resources available to them and their children while they are not attending school. Our goal is to gather 10,000 gently used books that children can take home with them and keep to read during the summer.

During the month of April, we are encouraging families to donate gently used books that they no longer need and drop them off at the Tabitha’s Donation Bins at the following schools:

  • Springville Area:
  • Springville High
  • Spanish Fork Junior
  • Springville Junior
  • Meadow Brook Elementary

  • Spanish Fork Area:
  • Diamond Fork Junior
  • Brockbank Elementary
  • Riverview Elementary
  • Sierra Bonita Elementary

  • Salem Area:
  • Valley View Middle
  • Foothills Elementary

  • Payson Area:
  • Payson Junior High
  • Mt. Nebo Middle

The children who come to the event will receive a tote bag and will be able to choose up to 10 books to read during the summer months. During the event, Tabitha’s Way will also hand out Summer Feeding Vouchers to guide families to utilize the free food resources at our pantry. Additionally, we will provide information regarding other ways and means to access free food assistance and reading programs, such as Feeding in the Park and city library reading programs within the Nebo School District.

Thank you for all your help in this worthy project. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact:

Teacher Appreciation Week

Submitted by susan.bird on Fri, 04/02/2021 - 14:13

This past week was teacher appreciation week and we have felt loved and spoiled.  Everyday was a little token of appreciation, a treat and a lot of love.  We, at Brookside, want to thank our amazing PTA, especially Teralyn Kilpack, for this fabulous week and for all the work she (and others) put in. We want to give a shout out to everyone who donated and provide a little bit of love to the staff here.

  • Thank you @springvillefloralandgifts for the beautiful arrangements to liven up the tables in our faculty room.  Flowers make everyone smile.
  • Thank you @shoutenorthodontics for the soda bar to help us through a Monday!
  • Thank you for the donuts, @daylightdonutsspringville!  A nutritious breakfast is the way to start any day!
  • On Wednesday, we enjoyed a favorite treat of several kinds of popcorn.
  • A big thank you to @jimmyjohns and @betosresturantes for a delicious lunch.
  • And we need to thank @lemonsagemarket for a yummy treat to end the week.

This year the theme was superheroes and we truly have felt like we had special powers this week.  We have enjoyed the posters on the doors, the signs all around the school, students wearing our favorite colors, dressing like superheroes and sharing notes with us.  We have been spoiled this week.  We all love working here at Brookside and are grateful to be part of your children’s lives.  Thank you for all the support and love you give to us!  Thank your Mrs. Kilpack and the PTA!
