Dr. Seuss Week

We love Dr. Seuss and he has so many great quotes.  One of our favorites is: “You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So... get on your way!” 

Last week, we celebrated Dr. Seuss week with some fun activities in our classrooms and school.  There were so many fun activities that were happening around the school. Here are just a few.

• We started everyday with Mrs. Beckert sharing some Dr. Seuss knowledge and fun quotes about and from Dr. Seuss. 
• Ms. Harmon shared some fun facts about Dr. Seuss with her second graders.  Mrs. Andrews had a read-a-thon and shared lots of Dr. Seuss books.  
• The entire fifth grade drew characters from famous Dr. Seuss stories and added a quote and hung these in the halls. And Miss Bird’s fifth graders played pictionary to guess the Dr. Seuss book.
• In kindergarten they read “Big A, Little a. What begins with Aa!”  And they made Dr. Suess - Cat in the Hat- Hats!
• Mrs. Nielson’s first grade had a read-a- thon for Dr. Seuss week.  The kids brought things from home to be comfortable on the floor as they enjoyed reading  their books.
