Teacher Tuesday - Mrs. Andrews

Submitted by susan.bird on

It’s Teacher Tuesday and we are spotlighting Mrs. LeAnn Andrews.  Mrs. Andrews teaches fourth grade and does an amazing job. She loves the kids that she teaches and works endlessly to make sure that they do their best.  We are so lucky to have Mrs. Andrews here at Brookside.

What do you love to do on the weekend?

  • Spend time with my kids and grandkids.
  • Relax or sleep
  • Sew or Watch a movie

If you could have lunch with any fictional character, who would it be? Mary Poppins and the Penguins

Who was your favorite teacher and why? Miss Veater, 6th grade.  We had great adventures with literature and wrote fun stories.  We got to do really hard math and learn about negative numbers.

If Mrs. Andrews was given $1000, do you know what she would buy? New carpet for my house or maybe more books to give to my grand-babies.

What song would you sing at Karaoke night? Try Everything

Who or what inspires you? My students inspire me to give them my very best so they can become their very best.  I am not "perfect" and but they help me everyday to be a better me.

Share a memory or three of school:

  • I remember riding the bus to school and I hated it because the kids were mean to me and it took forever. Okay, maybe it was only about a 15 minute ride.
  • I remember when I was in 4th grade we got to go on a hike to Timpanogos Cave.  It was fun to wall up the steep trails and my mom went too. Me and my friends took turns pushing her up the hills.
  • I remember doing a lot of creative writing in 6th grade and I still have a book of all the stories that I wrote that year.

Every year, Mrs. Andrews loves to teach math and science.  Why, you might ask. She said, “We can discover so many interesting things together.”

What is the best thing about your job?  MONDAYS!!
