Music Class

Submitted by susan.bird on

Mrs. Ramos' class learned a song about the wind and sun with Mrs. Fitzgerald. They even acted it out. Well done!  We love drama and music.

Kimball Arts Visit

Submitted by susan.bird on

The fifth grade had a visit from Kimball Arts Center.  Our presenter focused on the photographers Sue Flood and Paul Crow.  She shared the artist’s work with us talking about how every piece of artwork has a story and a meaning behind it.  The kids loved creating stories about the Sue Floods pictures of penguins. When we looked at Paul Crows photos, we talked about the texture and patterns in the ice. The the students created their own artwork.  They drew pictures of creatures from a cold climate.

College Day!

Submitted by susan.bird on

This week we celebrated College Week! During Counseling lessons, students have been learning about all different colleges they can go to when they're older, and what kinds of jobs people have. Lots of students filled out college trivia forms and won free prizes.   Thank you UVU, University of Utah, BYU, Weber State, Utah State, Dixie State, MTECH, SUU and Snow College for donating awesome college gear to give the students as prizes! The prizes made for some very happy students today!

Dear Parents,

Thank you for attending SEP conferences last week. It is always great to celebrate the growth that has taken place in each student. If you were not able to attend, but would like to meet with your child's teacher, please contact him/her and schedule a time.

Also, the PTA still needs a few volunteers to help decorate doors for teacher appreciation week next week. If you would be willing to volunteer, please sign up using this link:

Brookside's Classified Employee of the Year

Submitted by susan.bird on

Brookside's Classified Employee of the Year is one of the best intervention technicians around, Mrs. Lori Lewis.  We love Mrs. Lewis.  She comes early every morning and works with students in our computer lab.  She is willing to do anything that is asked of her from dibbles testing to working one on one with students to small groups to recess duty.  She is always up to the challenge of something new.  The best thing is that Mrs. Lewis loves the kids and the kids love her! Congrats, Mrs. Lewis!
