Curiosity Museum

Submitted by susan.bird on

On October 9, the Fifth Graders went on a field trip to the Curiosity Museum at Thanksgiving Point.  It was a cold and windy day but that didn’t stop them from exploring the Discovery Gardens. They also had fun at the Waterworks, the Rainforest, and Kidopolis.  We were lucky to find that the traveling feature was an American Adventure. Students could travel the maze with a life board and see if they could survive in 1607.  We just finished studying the Lost Colony of Roanoke, Jamestown and the 13 original colonies.

The Red Barn

Submitted by susan.bird on

We took a fun field trip to Rowley's Red Barn in Santaquin last week! All of the first grade went. We got to pick our own apples and eat them. We also got to learn about how they grow all their fruit trees on their farm. We got to play on all the awesome things they had set up for their fall festivities and we got sent home with a delicious donut. We had a blast!

Colonies

Submitted by susan.bird on

In Miss Bird’s fifth grade social studies class, we have been learning about the 13 colonies.  The students were given a colony and asked to research the colony learning when it became a colony, who founded it, what was the major industries, and what was the geography like.  After their research, students created colony balloons and shared their findings with the rest of the class. These fifth graders loved this assignment, constantly asking when is social studies.

Teacher Tuesday - Ms. Wright

Submitted by susan.bird on

Ms.  Shelley Wright is one of our fabulous fourth grade teachers.  Here are a few things you should know about her.

Her favorite ice cream flavor is strawberry cheesecake.

Her favorite zoo animal is butterflies.

On weekends, she usually cleans her house or work.

If Ms. Wright was given $1000, she would most definitely buy books.
