At Brookside Elementary we are dedicated to a love of learning EVERYWHERE, not just at school. 4th Grade has been working on Passion Projects all year long. Students will pick a topic of their choice and work on their project at home. When they have completed their project, it is submitted to their teacher. She then approves or gives suggestions about ways they could make their presentation more interactive. Some of our favorite lessons have been derived from these passion projects. We have learned about Egyptian mythology, planetary size comparisons, Presidents of the United States, the human body, orthopedics, George Lucas, etc. It has been a terrific way to dig into learning and prepare materials to share that we are passionate about.
