Nebo Hero at Brookside

Submitted by susan.bird on

We have some awesome teachers here at Brookside going above and beyond.  Yesterday, Miss Kelly White proved this point. She saved the life of one of her third graders who was choking on a lifesaver.  Miss White remained calm while performing the heimlich on the child to help her to breath. The candy was dislodged and the student was fine.  Miss White is our Nebo Hero.

Learning to be a Curator

Submitted by susan.bird on

Mrs. Till from teh Springville Museum of Art visited our school today and talked about being a curator.  She taught that a curator puts together displays for the museum.  She related it writing essays.  You have to have a main idea and supporting details.  She demonstrated with pictures she picked out and had the students come up with ideas for the main idea and then the kids worked together to become curators.  Thank you Springville Museum of Art for sharing your knowledge with us.

It's Testing Time

Submitted by susan.bird on

It's that time of year again, end of the year RISE testing.  The testing window is now open and runs through May.  Please be consider of this and check with your student's teacher for specific days and times of testing.  If you know that your student is going to miss a day, let their teacher know.  We have to get all students tested and it helps to make up tests when we know that kids are going to be gone.
