We are so grateful for Springville City for including Brookside Elementary in this special occasion to commemorate the beauty and importance of trees. In a heartwarming gesture of environmental stewardship, Springville City gave Brookside a sapling to mark Arbor Day, a celebration deeply rooted in fostering a greener, healthier planet.
The students, teachers, and staff gathered for an assembly where the proclamation of Arbor Day shared. The students learned that Springville is known as the "Tree City" because it has more than 36,000 trees! A Springville City tree specialist then explained to the students the type of tree that would be planted in their field. They learned that a Sensational Maple was to be planted because it could grow up to 50 feet tall and 40 feet wide. It also can live from 60-100 years.
