We are so excited to announce that our Teacher of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year goes to Mrs. BrynLee Pickering. Mrs. Pickering is an amazing teacher. She works hard everyday to help her students and grow. You can tell that she loves and cares for each of her students and everyone at Brookside.
Mrs. Pickering has been teaching at Brookside for six years. She has taught on year in fourth grade and five years in first grade. She has mentored a lot of teachers coming onto the first grade team and always has good advise for anyone looking for some help.
Mrs. Pickering says, "My favorite part about teaching is the daily interactions I get to have with my students. I love being able to connect with them on a personal level and tie it into our everyday learning. Their fun personalities are the highlight of my day!"
We want to congratulate Mrs. Pickering for the amazing job that she does every day. She said, "I have loved working at Brookside for the last 6 years. I feel very fortunate that I've been able to stay at Brookside since my intern year. Between the amazing colleagues, students, and community, I couldn't ask for a better place to be.
