Dear Brookside Families,
Yesterday we had a NetSmartz assembly which focused on internet safety and digital citizenship. Lower grades learned the 4 Rules of Internet Safety:
- Tell my trusted adult if anything makes me feel sad, scared, or confused.
- Ask my trusted adult before sharing information like my name, address, and phone number.
- NOT to meet face-to-face with anyone from the Internet.
- Always use good netiquette and not be rude or mean online.
Upper grade students were challenged to think of ways to use electronics as a tool to improve their lives and their communities. They were also challenged to use technology to share kindness and to put an end to cyberbullying.
NetSmartz also has parent resources that you are welcome to use in your homes if you are interested. Here is the link to access those resources:

Thank you and have a wonderful evening!
