Miss Kelly White

Miss Kelly White is one of our fifth grade teachers.  She is in her ninth year of teaching and has taught both third and fifth grades.  She is compassionate, understanding, patient and caring. She is a great teacher and all her students love being in her class.  She is a amazing co-worker, teammate and friend.  She always has a kind word to say, a listening ear and a smile when it’s needed.  We are lucky to have Kelly in our Brooksdie family.

Miss White graduated from Springville High School, went to Snow College for her Associates degree and UVU for her Bachelors. She has an endorsement in Gifted and Talented Education. Kelly grew up in Mapleton. Her family and extended family all live in the Springville/Spanish Fork area and she loves family get-togethers and spending time with them. She enjoy paddle boarding, reading, going for drives, and one of her favorite places in the world to be is Coronado Beach in San Diego. She has childhood memories about visiting Coronado - driving over the bridge, collecting sand dollars, and playing "bite the wave" in the ocean.

What are you looking forward to most about this school year?I am looking forward to getting to know my students, working with them, and seeing them progress this year.”

What do you love about your job?  “The students! I love seeing their creativity, kindness, gratitude, and curiosity.”

What is something no one may know about you? When I was in Kindergarten I wrote on my "What I want to be when I grow up" paper that I wanted to be a teacher - and look at me now! Dreams really do come true.”

Is there anything else you would like parents and/or students to know about you? “My favorite teachers were Mrs. Eddington in 3rd grade because she had a way of making you feel like you mattered and were loved and Mrs. Short in 5th grade - she made learning fun with cool science experiments and encouraged us to do and be our best! They were both great examples to me of good teachers and I hope to emulate them to the best of my ability.”
