I would like to introduce you to your new principal for the 2017-2018 school year. Her name is Dana Beckert and she is wonderful. I've had many chances over the years to rub shoulders with Mrs. Beckert and know you will love her. I've already told her how amazing your children are and how supportive you, as parents are. I'm so grateful for the time I've been at Brookside and know she will continue making our school the best place for your children.
Here is a little more of her many accomplishments:
Hello Brookside Tigers,
Kindergarten registration is this Thursday, March 16th from 8:30-3:30. If you or anyone you know has a kindergarten age child, please help spread the word. If they have questions they may call the office.
Thursday is also our SEP long night. Please watch for a note with your time. This will be our last SEP so please attend to hear all the great things that your child has accomplished during the year.
Also, Friday there is no school. It is a Parent Conference (P/C) Comp day.

We are more than pleased to have Mrs. Gallagher win the crystal apple award. Every year an outstanding certified teacher wins the crystal apple award. Mrs. Gallagher has been teaching for 18 years and 9 of those have been at Brookside. She is the mother to 3 great boys. She is an amazing Kindergarten teacher and her students absoultely adore her. Thank you for everything you do!
Any parents who have helped at Brookside this year are invited to a brunch. The brunch will be March 13th at 10 a.m. Thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers.
Mia Ollerton and Michael Mayo in the 3rd grade won the Zitzel Award for the best visualization during a read aloud assignment.
Congratulations!
Many classes at school had fun celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday. Mrs. Hobbs and Ms. Duston's class did an informational writing piece about Thedor Seuss Giesel all week. Then on Thursday, we celebrated with reading, art projects, treats, and writing assignments.
Mrs. Smith's first grade had a read across America party where they all brought their pillows and blankets and read.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
