This year at Brookside Elementary we have 6 faculty members retiring and Principal Rudd is leaving for another job opportunity.
Mrs. Evans has taught for 21 years. 17.7 years was working as an aide in first grade and then 10 years as a full-time classroom teacher in third grade. Her favorite thing about Brookside is the kids of course!!!!
Mrs. Bird has taught for 29 years. Her first year was in Provo School District. She took a few years off to spend with her children. She had substituted at Brookside for a few years and loved it. When an opening came up she took it and has been there for the past 28 years. She loves Brookside, the teachers, principals and students that I've worked with. This is part of her family.
Mrs. Clements has been at Brookside 34 years.
My favorite things about Brookside are the different seasons and the celebrations.
Hearing the songs and seeing the artwork. Having children attend Brookside years ago who now bring their children to Brookside. Especially the many little faces through many years.
Mrs. Channel has been a speech therapist for 30 years. All of those years have included some time at Brookside. As the schools have grown and changed she went from working at multiple schools to only Brookside. Her favorite thing about Brookside has always been the great faculty and how willing they are to be flexible to allow students to receive speech help. The students have also made it a fun place to work.
Mrs. Clark has taught for 36 years and 27 of those years were at Brookside Elementary. Her favorite thing about working at Brookside is First the amazing kids and second the Supportive and caring parents.
Mr. Hall has been a custodian for 19 years for Nebo School District. He has spend 7 of those years at Brookside Elementary. His favorite thing about Brookside was the weather not being terrible for him to maintain.
Mrs. Rudd has been an educator for 12 years, a principal for 9 years, and has been the principal at Brookside for 5.5 years. Her favorite thing about Brookside is the relationships with the students, teachers, and parents.
Brookside will miss all of these wonderful faculty members, it will be very different next year without them.
