Brookside PTA members,
We hope you and your families are all doing well. With the soft closure of schools through the remainder of the school year, our members never got the chance to vote on PTA officers for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. In keeping with our bylaws, we'd like to open up the opportunity for anyone who would like to run for the following positions on the 2020-2021 Brookside PTA board:
President- I am happy to serve as president again next year, but if someone else would like the opportunity they are certainly welcome to run.
Treasurer- Sarah DeLlamas has agreed to serve as treasurer again next year, but again if someone else would like to be treasurer we encourage them to run.
President Elect- This position is open, with an urgent need to fill it. President elect is a "president in training" and would serve as PTA president in the 2021-2022 year. According to our bylaws, next year is the last year I can serve as president, so I would love to take 2020-2021 to train someone and show them the ropes before they become president. This position requires an average of 3-7 service hours a month, many of which can be done from home.
Secretary- This position is open with an urgent need to fill it. The secretary attends all PTA meetings, records the meeting minutes, and sends out meetings agendas and minutes to all PTA members. They also assist with creating and sharing our sign-up genius events throughout the year. This position requires about 1-3 service hours per month, most of which can be done from home.
If you are interested in running for any of the above positions, please contact me via email or text me at 801-830-9826. You are also welcome to nominate people for these positions. It can be a friend or neighbor, someone you've served with in a classroom, or a parent helper that a teacher has been impressed with. Please share your nominations with me, and I can reach out to them about serving.
We will be accepting nominations and candidates through Wednesday May 6th. You'll get an email link the following day on May 7th to vote on next year's board. Normally our bylaws state that we must vote in-person, but due to COVID-19 we have been given permission this year to use survey monkey to hold our votes.
