We are excited to have Mrs. Steffanie Petersen as one of our second grade teachers. This is Mrs. Petersen’s first year teaching and she is doing a magnificent job. She loves her job, students and fits right in our Brookside family. We are lucky to have this great teacher.
Before coming to Brookside, Ms. Petersen has been going to UVU full time for the past four and a half years! Before that, aside from being a mom, she worked as a jeweler at Dukes Jewelry right here in Springville. Mrs. Petersen did most of her growing up in Las Vegas and spent a little time in Price. She comes from a blended family that is very hard to follow, so to make it easier, she is married and a mom to three teenage boys. Some things that she likes to do outside of school is to go on vacations to new places, go to museums and go camping with her family.
What do you love about your job? “Making new friends.”
What is something no one may know about you? “When I lived in Las Vegas, my family was the caretakers of a horse arena. I used to barrel race horses and run the cook shack with my cousin during the rodeos.”
Is there anything else you would like parents and/or students to know about you? “I taught art for Nebo School District for two years. During that time, I grew to love teaching. That is what made me change career paths and be where I am today.”
