This week for Teacher Tuesday we are highlighting one of our brave sixth grade teachers, Mrs. Cassie Crandell. Mrs. Crandell has been here at Brookside for two years and before that she interned at Art City. Mrs. Crandell is great with those sixth graders and we are happy to have her here at Brookside.
What do you love to do on the weekend? I love to spend time with my family, okay with Eliana and soon a new baby, read, and take naps!
If you could have lunch with a fictional character, who would it be? Black Widow
Who was your favorite teacher and why? Miss Eckland my 4th grade teacher because she was super nice and always smiled. We had lots of fun in her class
If you were given $1000 - what would you buy? A trip to Belgium and the Netherlands.
What song would you sing at Karaoke night? Bright by Echosmith
Who or what inspires you? I have so many people who inspire me, but every day I am inspired by my husband and daughter. They are amazing, loving, kind, and selfless. They help me to become a better person every day and inspire me to always be my best self! They are my everything!
Share a memory of school: In high school I was in the marching band and I always loved going and playing at the football games!
What is your favorite thing to teach every year? If we are talking about curriculum I love to teach my students a love for reading and world religion. But if I only teach them one thing I hope it's that they are somebody and they will make a difference in the world.
What is the best thing about your job? The best thing about being a teacher is the kids. Learning about and creating relationships with each of my students and watching them learn and grow for a year is why I love my job. I love my students.

- Recess game: I liked to swing and just play with my friends.
