In our new Language Arts program, CKLA, our fourth graders have been learning abou the Middle Ages. They have learned about the Roman Empire and why that time is important to history. We learned about knights and that they learn archery and jousting. We learning about the beautiful windows that were created to put in their catherals. And we learned about monks and nuns and how they had to hand copy any text or book they wanted to preserve. Because we were so interested in our readings and learning, of course we had to try. We got to "travel" back to our Medieval times and try for ourselves archery, jousting, quill writing and stain glass windows. The students and teachers had so much fun trying this out.
