Brookside students experienced such an amazing assembly today. The PTA did more than enough to get the students excited about our run a thon. They had competitions against the teachers and students and then we had very exciting visitors as well. Tumblers performed for the students doing flips and jumping over teachers. There was so much excitment this morning. Students will bring home packets with information on this fun event. Please take the time to read it over. Donations could be collected by family members or neighbors and then they will run that morning and afternoon.
The fifth grade had their yearly track meet on April 27. The weather was good all morning and we beat the rain back to the school. The students had a blast hanging out, running and cheering each other on. We want to congratulate all the winners.
Mrs. Poole taught the 5th graders a song to sing at the Regional PTA meeting. They preformed Swing on a Star. The kids had a lot of fun singing for the PTA and learning this fun song! Thanks Mrs. Poole!
Mrs. Gonzalez 3rd grade is learning about food chains, with the questions: what does it eat? What is it eaten by? After learning about plants and different animal groups, the class is exploring how plants, and different animals interact.
Brookside was lucky to have Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company come perform April 25th. There was not a time that the students were not actively engaged. They had volunteers go up and dance with them on a couple of occasions. They also split the students in half and had them compete against each other. It was so much fun for the students. Many students went back to their classrooms and tried to do the exact same moves. Thank you so much for coming and putting on a show for our school.
We are so proud of how well the 6th grade students performed at the track and field events! There was only one event where Brookside did not have any students place! All of the students had a lot of fun and they were constantly cheering each other on.
