Fifth Grade State Floats

Submitted by susan.bird on

I love the tradition of the Fifth Grade Floats.  The students are assigned one of the fifty states.  They research their state and create a float to represent their state.  The students are so creative in their design and materials. All of the floats turned out amazing.  Great job, fifth graders.

Robin Hood

Submitted by susan.bird on

Mrs. Stapel's second grade class performed the play Robin Hood for the students at Brookside Elementary.  It was a fun way to integrate art education into the regular curriculum. The children were able to practice their acting and musical skills, visual art talents, as well as reading, expression, writing, and so much more as they prepared for and performed for their friends and family.  They did a fantastic job and made it a wonderful performance for all to see.

Apple to Apples

Submitted by susan.bird on

Mrs. Graves class recently played the games Apples to Apples. But they added a twist. Instead if using the regular cards, they used art prints. This way they could learn about differemy styles, techniques and more.
