For the last two weeks, we have been learning about Chinese Civilization in our classroom. We learned about the dynamic geography of China and how that affected the way people lived anciently as well as how it led to the Silk Road. Three major philosophies were studied; Confucianism, Taoism, and Legalism along with their impact on the different dynasties. Four major dynasties were studied; Shang, Zhou, Qin, and Han and we learned about their leaders and contributions to the modern world. To finish off our unit, the GAINS visual art specialist came in and taught us how to paint Chinese characters! We had a lot of fun learning this unit!
