The fifth graders braved the rain on March 31 for their field trip to Camp Floyd. Students learned about what it was like to live in 1865. They started with a presentation about Johnston's Army coming into the Salt Lake Valley. They saw a real musket being fired, then they got some hands on experiences. They became riders in the Pony Express, they visited a museum and the Stagecoach Inn, learn to fire muskets, made adobe bricks and candles, and they got to see what it was like to be a student in 1865. The students had a blast.
