Alicia Rudd – Elementary Coordinator
With the recent appointment of Dave Rowe as Elementary Director, the Nebo School Board of Education appointed Alicia Rudd as the new Elementary Coordinator.
Mrs. Rudd received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University and completed her Master’s in Education degree from Southern Utah University. In 2007, Alicia earned her Administrative Education license from Southern Utah University.
Mrs. Rudd served as principal at Brookside Elementary for the past five years and also served as principal at Mt. Loafer Elementary for the previous three years. She served as a Title I teacher and coordinator at Park View Elementary for one year, transitional first-grade teacher at Larsen Elementary for nine years, second-grade teacher at East Meadows Elementary for one year, and staff developer at Westside Elementary for one year. Mrs. Rudd was selected as Teacher of the Year for 2006 by Nebo School District.
A colleague said, “Alicia is a master teacher in all curriculum areas and one who knows how to effectively facilitate change. She is an instructional leader who has a good grasp of best practice and always implements whatever strategies are needed to ensure student success in a positive and productive learning environment. Mrs. Rudd is skilled in helping teachers to improve upon their own best practices through observation, modeling, and collaboration.”
Alicia tries to live by the quote: “Stay humble, work hard, be kind.” She strives to be: “The person that makes others feel special. Be known for your kindness and grace.” Alicia thanked the School Board for having the faith in her and she will miss all the students, parents and staff at Brookside Elementary.
Mrs. Rudd said, “As a principal and hopefully now as a mentor to other administrators, I want to help them see and feel all the good that they are all doing in their buildings. We have so many wonderful people to work with, and that makes me love my job!”
Alicia is the daughter of Shirl and Jean Olson of Spanish Fork. She and her husband, Kirk, live in Benjamin and have three children.
Everyone at Brookside Elementary wants Mrs. Rudd to know that we are so happy for her and she will be missed! The next principal has BIG shoes to fill.
