It’s Teacher Tuesday and our teacher this week is Mrs. BrynLee Pickering. Mrs. Pickering is a first grade teacher and her students love her. She always has a smile on her face and is always concerned about others. We love having Mrs. Pickering her at Brookside!
What do you love to do on the weekend: “I love to visit my family, go out to eat, and shop!”
If you could have lunch with any fictional character who would it be? If I could have lunch with any fictional character it would be Harry Potter.
Who was your favorite teacher and why? "My favorite teacher was my grandma! I always got to help in her classroom. I thought it was the best. She also taught language arts and keyboarding, which I both enjoyed!"
If your were given a$1000 - what would you buy? Home decor or a trip to Disneyland!
What song would you sing at Karaoke night? Year 3000 by the Jonas Brothers
Who or what inspires you? “Everyone who has a story.”
Share a memory or two of school:
- I remember getting a boy playing with my friends shirt and I got made at him. My teacher heard us talking and made us all stay in from recess. I cried because that was so unlike me and he let me out.
- I also remember in middle school my friends brought a farting machine to band. We hid it under the teachers chair (who was a sub that day). Funniest class period ever!
What is your favorite thing to teach every year? “My favorite thing to teach is place value because we teach it like they're in a boot camp.”
What is the best thing about your job? “I love being able to have fun everyday with people who make me laugh and smile!”

- Sport: I love playing basketball, especially on the playground with the kids. However, I love watching football with my husband and famil

- Recess Game: Basketball and tether ball! I was the tether ball queen!
