5th Grade Wax Museum

Submitted by amber.hobbs on

The 5th Grade Wax Museum was held on November 14, 2016.  These fifth graders were asked to pick a famous American, read a biography, write a speech, memorize it and then present to the school and their parents.  The students did an amazing job.  For parents, that night, the student performed songs then froze and delivered their speeches dressed up as their famous American.  They worked hard and it showed.  Great job, fifth graders!

Dear Parents,

Thank you for talking to your children about the lock down procedures.  Fridays drill went smoothly.  On Wednesday of this week, our faculty and staff will be trained again by myself and David Gneiting, our district At-Risk specialist, of more items to be aware of as far as safety.  We continue to practice and improve procedures so we will all have a peace of mind that children are safe and cared for while at school.

Mr. Anderson's Class Learns about Germs

Submitted by alicia.rudd on

Mr. Anderson gave an exciting lesson about germs.  He showed them what happens when they don't wash their hands well.  The students washed their hands once then he put a squirt of Glow Germ on their hands and had them rub it in. They inspected their hands under a light and they could see where they didn't wash well enough.  Then of course, they washed a second time after being taught the correct way to wash.  A little gross but very informative.  I don't think his class will every forget that lesson.  Nicely done Mr. Anderson!

Crazy Sock Day at Brookside

Submitted by alicia.rudd on

A BIG shout out to our PTA for sponsoring our Drug Free week.  Every day the students were able to dress up as a way to remember to stay away from things that may harm our body.  Just in case you don't know, we have the BEST PTA! There is still time to join.

Our Brookside Halloween Parade

Submitted by alicia.rudd on

Dear Parents,

Just a quick reminder that our Halloween Parade will be at 2:00 out on the grass behind the school.

Parents can line up in the enclosed parent spot starting at 1:45.  Take all the pictures you would like and pick up your child at in the classroom after.

Our 6th grade will perform their annual Thriller dance for parents right after the parade and K-5 have gone in.  At this time parents can spread out on the grass to have the best view.  Please stay off the asphalt as that is where the 6th grade will perform.

Happy Halloween!
