Mr. Randall Jex is our outstanding custodian. He comes early every morning to make sure our school is ready to go for the students. He works hard all day, everyday! He gets all the dirty jobs, interacts with the students and helps the teachers with all those small jobs. We are lucky to have Mr.
Our fifth graders recently held their wax museum and they were fantastic! For the past month, they have been reading biographies, researching, writing speeches, creating posters and practicing their speeches. On the day of their museum, they arrived dresses as a variety of famous Americans like Abraham Lincoln, Issac Newton, Steve Young, Jackie Kennedy, Walt Disney, Helen Keller and many more. These fifth graders worked hard and it paid off! Great job!

Brookside PTA put together a wonderful pizza party for students who entered our reflections this year. The theme was “show your voice” and we had some great entries in all categories! Visual art, photography, music, film, and dance. With generous donations from the community the students all won raffle prizes as well. Thank you Central Bank in Springville, Made of Laughter Daycare, Monroe and Lochlan Bradley, Crumble and Zeppes, and other anonymous donors for your generous donations! And Brookside PTA for sponsoring such a fun celebration!
A couple of weeks ago the 1st graders went on a field trip to the Red Barn in Santaquin. We had fun learning about the different foods they grow, and playing on the giant slide, haystacks, and tractors!

We are so excited to have a new assistant secretary, Mrs. Vivi Ferro. She is one of the friendly faces that you meet as you enter the office. She is willing to help and goes above and beyond to ensure that students and teachers are taken care of and have what they need. We are so excited to have Mrs.
The Title VI program came to our school today to talk with our fourth graders about Native American history. The presentation covered a variety of topics, including: the different tribes, the Iroquois Nations, the first Thanksgiving, foods that origins of food that we eat today started with the Native Americans, Plains Indians and being resourceful. They also talked about medicine (also things like syringes and baby bottles), many games that we play today originated with the Native Americans. We learned that LaCrosse is a sacred game.
We had a very happy Halloween at Brookside Elementary. Kids and teachers dressed up in a variety of costumes. It was so fun to see everyone. It was a day filled with fun, parties and our parade.
