Hello Parents,

I hope you all had a fun filled holiday with your family.  Now that Thanksgiving is over the white stuff is falling in preparation for our next holiday.  Wow! Beautiful.

Now that weather is upon us, please help your children be prepared for outdoor recesses.  Pack boots, gloves, hats in a bag to put on at recess. This gives them dry shoes to put back on in class.  Also, send a coat with your child's name in it.  We will go out most days unless the temperature falls below 30 degrees.  Then we will have an indoor recess.  Today we are having an indoor recess because the snow is wet and heavy plus I want to make sure students are prepared.

A few things to know about this week are:

1. Our 6th grade orchestra will have their winter concert this Thursday, December 1st at 6:30 on the stage.

2. Our 2nd grade will have a field trip on Friday, December 2nd.  They will attend Christmas Around the World at BYU.  This field trip is best dress so you may want to send extra clothes to change into after.

Next week things to know:

1. 5th grade will begin their 15 day review of keyboarding on Tuesday.

2. PTA and SCC are on Wednesday.

3. Our 3rd grade parent program is Thursday, December 8th at 6:00.

Thank you for sharing your children with us.  I have the best job because I get to work with all of you!

Feeling grateful,

Mrs. Rudd

Our theme for this month is I can be big by using good manners. Our class read a few fun books on manners and then acted some situations out with puppets. They will all have great manners now.

The 5th Grade Wax Museum was held on November 14, 2016.  These fifth graders were asked to pick a famous American, read a biography, write a speech, memorize it and then present to the school and their parents.  The students did an amazing job.  For parents, that night, the student performed songs then froze and delivered their speeches dressed up as their famous American.  They worked hard and it showed.  Great job, fifth graders!

Dear Parents,

Thank you for talking to your children about the lock down procedures.  Fridays drill went smoothly.  On Wednesday of this week, our faculty and staff will be trained again by myself and David Gneiting, our district At-Risk specialist, of more items to be aware of as far as safety.  We continue to practice and improve procedures so we will all have a peace of mind that children are safe and cared for while at school.

Today our 5th grade shared their Wax Museum with us.  Thank you for helping your child put the time in to find a costume.  They played the parts so well.  There is also the 6:00 parent program tonight if anyone wants to visit.  You will not be disappointed!

Our 6th grade has their Egyptian Musuem on Friday from 1:00-2:00.  They have also worked so hard on their project.  Yet another reason to thank you as parents.

Also, I'd like to thank the teachers and staff that work with all our students.  We have an amazing group of dedicated adults that work hard every day.

It's time for another Box Top challenge.  While you are buying items for your Thanksgiving dinner, watch for the products that have Box Tops.  The Box Tops are an easy way for the PTA to collect money for the school.

This week is our Book Fair.  Students can visit before school and after from 8:30-3:30.  They will also be going in with their classes.

Next week is a short week with only school on Monday and Tuesday.  Our Thanksgiving break begins Wednesday-Friday.  Please have a safe and fun break with your families.

It only takes a little to do something BIG! Tiger Pride
