Fifth Grade State Floats

I love the tradition of the Fifth Grade Floats.  The students are assigned one of the fifty states.  They research their state and create a float to represent their state.  The students are so creative in their design and materials. All of the floats turned out amazing.  Great job, fifth graders.

Chloe Richmond has been trying really hard to be a peacemaker and maintain friendships, Corbin Moore picked up a bunch of trash because he noticed how messy it was, Cadan Wilson helped clean up garbage at the track meet, Bryce Thomas tried really hard to stay on task this week and finish his work, Mathew Stewart cleaned up others garbage at the track meet, Juliet Lesueur and Mary Finlayson helped a classmate when they got hurt.

These students help to make Brookside a great place to be to feel safe, learn and thrive. Keep up the #tigerpride

Robin Hood

Mrs. Stapel's second grade class performed the play Robin Hood for the students at Brookside Elementary.  It was a fun way to integrate art education into the regular curriculum. The children were able to practice their acting and musical skills, visual art talents, as well as reading, expression, writing, and so much more as they prepared for and performed for their friends and family.  They did a fantastic job and made it a wonderful performance for all to see.

Mrs. Graves class recently played the games Apples to Apples. But they added a twist. Instead if using the regular cards, they used art prints. This way they could learn about differemy styles, techniques and more.

April 18, 2019

Dear Parents,

We are so excited for our Run-a-Thon fundraiser tomorrow. The students are ready to give their all and run as many laps as they can. It is going to be a great event. Thank you to our PTA for all their hard work in bringing this event to us. Please remember to bring in all your donations tomorrow morning. Thank you!

Also, the students have been working on their exhibits for the Arts Showcase which will be held Monday, April 22nd from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The original announcement said that it would be over at 7:00 but we have had some requests to increase the time so it will go until 7:30. Please put it on your calendars and join us. It is going to be a great arts event and the bookfair will be open as well. Thank you!

Have a wonderful evening!

Dana Beckert
