The first Art project of the year was to turn our names or initials in to art!
The first and second graders concentrated on filling their pages with color and creativity, while the older grades had specific rules to follow. Some practiced using scale and filling up a given space with their nam, either making a pinwheel type shape and writing their name in different scripts, or using the exact same design and writing style in 4 separate quadrants of their paper. Of course, they did their best to fill the paper with color. Others practiced ruler skills in a single-point perspective name project, where at the end the goal was to have their names popping out of the paper in 3-D!
