Our teacher this week is a fabulous second grade teacher, Mrs. Darla Stapel. Mrs. Stapel is an amazing teacher and you can tell that she really loves the kids, every kid in the school. We love Mrs. Stapel
What do you love to do on the weekend: I love having family dinners and play games with my family.
If you could have lunch with a fictional character, who would it be? I would have lunch with Mrs. Weasley from Harry Potter.
Who was your favorite teacher and why? Mrs. Johnstone is my favorite teacher. She was my high school teacher and cheer coach. She was fun yet tough and demanding. She respected us students and we all loved her.
If you were given $1000 - what would you buy? A new back door for my house.
What song would you sing at Karaoke night? "I Am Woman" by Helen Reddy
Who or what inspires you? My mother. She has survived three different types of cancer and just keeps on going with a positive attitude. She works hard, thinks of others before herself, and is an amazing person.
Share a memory or two of school:
- I remember being in 5th grade, my teacher was Mr Snyder. He loved teaching Science and we did some amazing experiments and investigations. I loved playing with electricity and batteries.
- I learned how to jump rope in 1st grade. I have fond memories of my friends teaching me how to jump during our recess time. It felt so good to finally figure out how to do it.
What is your favorite thing to teach every year? I love teaching Math. I have so much fun helping them learn and seeing how excited they are when they "get it."
What is the best thing about your job? “The best thing about my job is MY STUDENTS! I love them all and feel so lucky to have them in my class!”
