Body Safety Presentation

Submitted by susan.bird on

Brookside was lucky to get some great presenters from Prevent Child Abuse Utah to come and teach the kids about being safe! The younger kids got to meet Safetysaurus and the older kids got to play some games with the instructors, and did so great! We're excited to have knowledgeable instructors teaching our kids how to stay safe! For more information about the program, and how you can help your kids stay safe, go to pcautah.org

The third graders attended their track meet on Monday, May 13.  It was a hot day, but the kids had a fun time learning how the track meet works.  They did an amazing job and worked hard.  Great job, third graders.

Loose Change for Food

Submitted by susan.bird on

The second grade are doing their annual service project, Loose Change for Food.  They will be collecting loose change starting today, May 13 through Friday, May 17.  Why are they doing this?  The second grade social studies core asks them to identify and participate in a local civic activity.  They will be donating they earn to the loocal food bank. Each dollar they earn streches to more than two for the food bank.  For example, if they earn $200 then the food bank can buy $500 worth of food.  They will aslo be practicing math skill

  • 6th Grade graduation has been changed to May 23rd at 9:30 am. The 6th grade celebration will still be on May 22nd at 2:00, but because of Springville High School’s graduation and other factors the graduation has been rescheduled.

Speech

Submitted by susan.bird on

In Speech we have been working together to end the year positively! During speech sessions students have been asked to think of one thing that they like that day. They get to write that thing on a star that gets placed on the board in the speech room. When we get 250 stars collectively, all of the speech students will get a special prize!

We love our speech teachers!
