Laurie Odekirk Bills has been settled in Mapleton where she has raised 4 children with her husband Doug. She is now a grandma to 12. She owned a Day Care for a time, and now works as a secretary at Brookside Elementary. She loves her Brookside family and is excited to be spending full-time with everyone at Brookside.
We appreciate everything she has done for Brookside Elementary!

It's hard to believe it is May. Only four more Mondays of the year.
There are a few things happening this week that you may need to know:

Thursday: 5th grade State Floats are available to view in the 5th grade hallway

This year at Brookside Elementary we have 6 faculty members retiring and Principal Rudd is leaving for another job opportunity.
Mrs. Evans has taught for 21 years. 17.7 years was working as an aide in first grade and then 10 years as a full-time classroom teacher in third grade. Her favorite thing about Brookside is the kids of course!!!!
Brookside was spoiled by the PTA during teacher appreciation week. Everyday the students got to participate in dress up days like crazy hair, crazy socks, dress up like a star, and hat day. The teachers got served treats everyday during lunch as well. The theme was if you give a mouse a cookie and that is how they decided what treats to give us. Also, all of the teachers got their doors decorated. Thank you PTA!!
