When I Grow Up

Submitted by susan.bird on

Mrs. Pickering’s class created a class book. They went through the whole process of writing a book and getting it published. The kids were so excited! There’s even going to be a school copy in the library! It’s called “When I Grow Up” by Mrs. Pickering’s Class 2018-2019.

STEM

Submitted by susan.bird on

Today in Mrs. Andrews class we had a snitch competition. This was an opportunity for us to use our STEM skills.  Each student was given that same materials and the requirements to get the snitch to be launched via rubber band. Then we had fun launching them down the hall. Thanks to Mrs. Morgan for all her work on this great lesson.

It Pays to Read

Submitted by susan.bird on

We had our second round of It Pays to Read yesterday, May 21.  THe students earned tickets all semester by reading at home. For every 100 minutes the students read, they got a ticket.  The tickets were drawn and those students played a Minute to Win it game and earned some cash. Every student that turned in a reading calendar received a book.  Keep reading!

Music Through the Ages

Submitted by susan.bird on

Last week the sixth graders performed their annual production of Music Through the Ages. They practiced hard for 1 1/2 months and did a fabulous job! We had a few new changes this year including adding stage mics to the performance! We are so grateful to Miss Bowns for all her work with the sound system! This is such a fun tradition and a great way to end the year with a bang!

Fourth Grade Beach Party

Submitted by susan.bird on

Since we had to cancel our Splash Pad trip we played board games in the morning, had our lunch picnic style in our classrooms and watched “Lilo & Stitch” on our beach towels.
