Faculty vs Fifth graders

Submitted by amber.hobbs on

The fifth grade got the opportunity to participate in a volleyball competition during lunch recess. The top two teams got to then move to the finals and play against the faculty. We played three games. The first game the faculty won, the second game the fifth graders won, and then the last game.... The FIFTH graders won! They were so excited to beat their teachers!

Monday Message

Submitted by alicia.rudd on

Good Morning Brookside Tigers,

I wish this weather would cooperate so we could get students outside for recess.  Please send your child with a coat because we will go out as much as the weather allows.  You should hear the cheers from the classrooms when we announce it's an outside day.  They are missing their time to play and be kids.

6th Grade Field Trip

Submitted by amber.hobbs on

On Friday, January 27th, the sixth grade got to go on a field trip to Clark Planetarium. When we arrived the students got to explore the building and play with all their interactive equipment. They could play on mars, control robots, take quizzes, act like they were news reporters, and so much more. Then we went and ate lunch at the gateway mall. When we came back we went into the DOME theater and learned all about constellations, moon phases, and how the earth rotates. After that we went to a show about why we have seasons on earth.

Third Grade Christmas Program

Submitted by amber.hobbs on

This year, the 3rd grade students learned about different Christmas traditions celebrated around the world. Some of the countries the 3rd graders studied were; Germany, Mexico, Japan, holland and of course, America. Students had fun learning about various cultural traditions, while incorporating drama, dance and music in their Christmas program. A big thanks to the amazing 3rd graders who made the program a success. A big thanks also goes to mrs bird, who wrote and directed the program.
