Order of Operations

Submitted by susan.bird on

In fifth grade, we have been working on the order of operations and writing numerical expressions.  This week, students were given a problem and they had to figure out where to add the parentheses in order to make the expression correct.  Miss Bird’s fifth graders were up to the task and solved the problems really well.

Symphony

Submitted by susan.bird on

On Tuesday, January 8th all the fourth graders in the whole district were able to go to MMHS where we enjoyed an amazing concert by the Utah Symphony. Before going we learning about all the instruments in a symphony thanks to our wonderful music teacher. This made it enjoyable because we were familiar with the different sounds. We got to dress up in our nice clothes for this special event. We ate our lunch a bit early but got to enjoy a snack in our rooms when we got back. It was a fun time getting there on the bus too!

Springville Museum of Art Visits

Submitted by susan.bird on

Our class had a special visitor today from the Springville Museum of Art. She taught us how to draw human figures, showing their movement.   The students did very well, taking turns to choose a movement, then having their partner draw them. They did a great job!
