100th Day of School

Submitted by susan.bird on

Recently we celebrated the 100th day of school!  There were a lot of celebrations held around our school.  In fifth grade recently, the student wrote about what their life would have been like if they were 100 years old.  Then we aged them to look 100.

Physical Changes of Matter

Submitted by susan.bird on

In our first science unit, Miss Bird’s fifth grade has been studying about physical changes.  We know that a physical change will change what something looks like and it is reversible. In this experiment we were wondering if water weighs the same when it is frozen and then melted again.  Our conclusion, after we froze the water it weighed the same. The students are learning so much about physical changes and that matter is the same weight after we change it.
