Last Friday, April 29, our PTA held their annual fundraiser. This year it was a Fun Run. The students were asked to ask family and friends to sponsor them in the fun run. Then, on Friday, students ran around a track to earn bracelets to show how many labs they ran. Each grade level ran at a different time and everyone earned lots of bracelets. It was cold and windy, but those student went out there and ran their hearts out. Great job, Tigers. We want to thank the PTA for all their hard work setting up and running this Fun Run!
Happy Principal’s Day! Today we are celebrate our favorite principal, Mrs. Dana Beckert. She is the best! She is always out and around the school talking with students and staff members. She makes everyone feel valued. She is easy to talk to and always willing to help. She always has a smile and a kind word for you. She is the perfect example for all she has taught us this year: to RISE Up to Excellence! We are going to miss her next year and wish her the very best!
Lots of students helped us out around Brookside Elementary this week. Bentley McCarty followed directions and was being a good example, Hazel Allred went above and beyond in her class job, Jaxtin Aagard focused and worked through a quiz with a good attitude, Alex Home comforted a student that lost a dollar for the book fair, Ivan Lopez helped a student clean up spilled soda even though he didn't spill it, Ann Crawford is a wonderful teachers helper.
Second Grade is super excited about our Flat Stanley project. All second graders have sent their own Flat Stanley throughout the world to many different continents and many of our 50 United States. He is now returning from his travels and is sharing with us about all of his adventures. Flat Stanley is a pretty lucky guy!
Second Graders at Brookside Elementary have been researching all about animals. Yesterday they had an Animal Report and Habitat Exhibition in their hall. Their parents, grandparents, and families were invited to come see. Also, the entire school was invited to come check out these awesome projects. Here are just a few photos.

Dear Brookside Families,
The fifth graders have been working hard researching and learning about a state. Students were assigned a state several weeks ago and have been hard at working hard researching all about their states. In class, they have put together a slide show to teach about the state and then they have created a float to represent their state. These students did an amazing job creating their floats to represent their state. Great job, Fifth Graders!
These floats are on display this week in the fifth grade hallway.
