Teacher Tuesday - Ms. Bradford

Submitted by susan.bird on

It’s Teacher Tuesday and this week we spotlight another of our fabulous fourth grade teachers, Ms. Mary Jenn Bradford. Ms. Bradford has taught third grade here at Brookside for a few years and decided to change to fourth grade this year.  Ms. Bradford is a fun and amazing teacher. We are lucky to have her here.

What do you love to do on the weekend: Golf and go to breakfast with my dad

Friend Friday - Mrs. Bishop

Submitted by susan.bird on

It’s Friends Friday and we are spotlighting one of our fabulous technicians, Mrs. Denise Bishop.  Mrs, Bishop does so much to help our school. She works with students, helps in Tiger TIme and supervises recess, just to name a few.  We love having Mrs. Bishop here at Brookside!

On the weekend, Mrs. Bishop loves to Read, sew, relax.

If you could have lunch with a fictional character, who would it be? Evie Westland (I wonder what book this is from.)

Layer of Soil

Submitted by susan.bird on

The students in Miss Bradford’s class learn about layers of soil while they sing and play an instrument. They had a ton of fun pounding on drums and rapping with GAINS presenter, Mrs. Brockbank. Thanks goes to Mrs. Brockbank for such a fun music lesson.

Atoms and Molecules

Submitted by susan.bird on

We learned about atoms and molecules in science last week and even created some of our own with Dot Candy! It's so fun to see creativity and science combine!

Opinion Writing in Fifth Grade

Submitted by susan.bird on

Students in Miss Whites class are focusing on opinion writing. They learned the difference between facts and opinions, read an article about unique Oreo flavors, taste tested different flavors of Oreos, and wrote about which flavor was their favorite and why. Yum!

Box Tops for Education

Submitted by susan.bird on

We will be having a boxtop compition from January 15 - January 31.  Things are changing with boxtops.  Mrs. Beckert sent out an email early with a letter addressing the changes.  Also, a flyer was sent home with your students about the changes.  Please help us by scanning your receipts and sending in ALL your boxtops (this is the last year they will be accepting physical boxtops, so go through your cupboards and cut the all out!)

Here is the letter that Mrs. Beckert sent out earlier this week.
