Submitted by liz.porter on

November 18, 2019

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to our 5th graders who had a very successful Wax Museum activity today. It is always exciting to see them come dressed up and prepared to share. It was great having their posters up in the hallways for a couple of days to read and enjoy.

Friends Friday

Submitted by susan.bird on

Our friend this Friday is our school counselor, Ms. Andria Beckham.  This is her second here at Brookside. She teaches lessons to every class, talks with students, cares about everyone and promotes kindness. We love our counselor.

On the weekend, Mrs. Beckham loves to do anything outdoors! Hiking to a waterfall or camping or finding some sort of body of water to jump into. Outdoors is Her happy place and helps Her to be a better mother and counselor.

Veteran's Day

Submitted by susan.bird on

We had the privilege of honoring our Veteran’s yesterday in an assembly.  Mrs. Bradford invited a very special Veteran, her dad, and others to talk with the students about what a Veteran is and how we honor them.  The students honored these Veterans and members of their own families by singing a few patriotic songs and holding up pictures of these family members. We want to thank all the Veteran’s for their service.

Submitted by susan.bird on

Our teacher this Tuesday is Mrs. Christina Broussard.  Mrs. B is a valuable part of our team here at Brookside.  In her first three years, she taught three different grades, finally settling in at Kindergarten. We love Mrs. B!

On the weekend, Mrs. B loves to go on adventures

If she could choose any fictional character to have lunch with, who would it be? Mrs. McGonagall from Harry Potter

Submitted by susan.bird on

Sargent Stokes, Mckenzi’s uncle, came to tell Mrs. Andrews’ class about working in the army. He showed us all his gear. It is very heavy.
