Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

Submitted by susan.bird on

Mrs. Pickering’s first grade class has been busy getting ready for the holidays. Over the last couple days they’ve been drawing, outlining, and watercoloring a picture of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The kids were so excited to break out the watercolors. To say they are excited for the upcoming holiday would be an understatement. Way to go Tigers!

Santa's Beard

Submitted by susan.bird on

The fifth graders are learning how to multiply decimals.  To make the task a little bit more enjoyable, the students made Santa beards.  They multiplied decimals, matched the problems to the solutions and then curled the ‘hair.’  The students loved making these beards. Bonus: their teachers could see how they did with this skill.

Stained- Glass Windows

Submitted by susan.bird on

The fifth grade has a tradition of making stained glass windows.  Day one the student cut pieces out of their paper to make the holes for their “glass.”  On the second day, the student glue in tissue paper creating their windows. Theses pieces of art are amazing.
