Congratulations!
Many classes at school had fun celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday. Mrs. Hobbs and Ms. Duston's class did an informational writing piece about Thedor Seuss Giesel all week. Then on Thursday, we celebrated with reading, art projects, treats, and writing assignments.
Mrs. Smith's first grade had a read across America party where they all brought their pillows and blankets and read.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Bring a book and come enjoy a donut and some special reading time. Dad can't make it? That's ok! Any loved one can attend with your child. Mom, grandparents, aunt, uncle, neighbor or family friend are all welcome. Help us celebrate literacy at Brookside Elementary.
The fifth grade got the opportunity to participate in a volleyball competition during lunch recess. The top two teams got to then move to the finals and play against the faculty. We played three games. The first game the faculty won, the second game the fifth graders won, and then the last game.... The FIFTH graders won! They were so excited to beat their teachers!

Good Morning Brookside Tigers,
I wish this weather would cooperate so we could get students outside for recess. Please send your child with a coat because we will go out as much as the weather allows. You should hear the cheers from the classrooms when we announce it's an outside day. They are missing their time to play and be kids.
